The Rangitikei District Council is a rural local authority in the lower North Island. The Council’s office is in Marton, about 30 minutes drive from Palmerston North and Wanganui.

You will need to be a self-motivated team person who is enthusiastic about providing customer-focused building control. You will need to provide leadership to the Council’s team of building inspectors and to undertake a range of regulatory functions. A critical component of your job will be to ensure that Council maintains accreditation as a Building Consent Authority.
Ideally you will have
- Experience in local government
- Experience in the building industry
- An extensive knowledge of the requirements of an accredited Building Consent Authority
- Proven supervisory skills
- An ability to deal confidently and efficiently with members of the public
- A ‘can do’ approach
